1. Estelle A. is my grandmother, and I listed her
because she was such a significant influence as a child and still today as an adult.
I was her first biological granddaughter. She was always there to encourage me
to my best. I can remember sitting with her having conversations about the aspects
of life, and she would ensure that I felt loved, supported, and important.
Religion is something that is important to her and that she used to influence me
as a young child. Stressing to me the significance of having a relationship
with God and that I could depend on my religion to get me through any situation
in life. Today, I still go to my grandmother to seek advice and to get those words
of encouragement. Her favorite say is “Never
allow anyone to steal your joy.”
2. Earnestine T. and she is my Aunt. My aunt
influenced me by showing me love,
support, and encouragement. She would constantly
stress the importance of how getting a good education would open
unlimited doors of opportunity for me. I remember going to visit her in
California during one of my summer breaks. She showed
me around Los Angeles, and it was amazing
to see such a big city because I am from a small town. That trip solidified everything she had been telling me
because I had never seen anything like that before. She is my motivation
because education is key to achieving
your goals.
3. Mrs. Massey was my second-grade teacher. She can still remember walking into her classroom
just like it was yesterday. It was decorated
nice, and
she was so welcoming to the students. Mrs.
Massey made every student feel smart, important
and loved. Overall, she was the best teacher I ever had, and I hope to be as great of a teacher as she
was to me.
4. Sandra T. she is my best friend’s mother and
like a second mother to me. She was the
parent that was involved in every aspect of her
child’s life. She was always there to motivate, support, and show that unconditional
love to me. During sporting events, you could hear her in the bleachers
cheering. Her presence met a lot because my parents were not there to support
me, but I knew I could always depend on her for whatever I needed.
